Accessibility
A site about injury that excludes disabled users is self-refuting, so this one is built to WCAG 2.2 AA and the specifics are published rather than asserted.
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Target | WCAG 2.2 Level AA across every page, including the interactive tools and the maps. |
| Keyboard | Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator. The skip link is the first focusable element on every page. |
| Colour | Text meets AA contrast in both light and dark themes. Colour is never the only carrier of meaning — withheld values are hatched as well as coloured, and every chart is accompanied by a table or a caption carrying the same figures. |
| Motion | There are no autoplaying animations. Everything respects prefers-reduced-motion. |
| Charts and maps | Every SVG carries a title and a description. Map tooltips are a convenience: every value shown in one also appears in a real table on the same page, so no information is mouse-only. |
| Text | No text is an image. The site uses system fonts, so it reflows and scales with your own settings and loads no font files. |
| Zoom | Usable at 400% zoom and at 375 pixels wide with no horizontal scrolling. |
| Known gaps | The interactive tools have been keyboard-tested but not yet tested with every major screen reader in every browser combination. If something does not work, tell us and it will be fixed and logged. |
| Reporting | Email kevin@kkamarketing.com. Accessibility faults are treated as bugs, not as feature requests, and are fixed ahead of other work. |
