Figure 1. Counties left empty have no lawyer establishments at all, so the ratio is undefined rather than large. This is a market map, not a merit map, establishment counts do not distinguish a medical malpractice practice from a solo doing closings, and nothing here suggests where claims exist.

Nebraska counties where births most outrun local legal establishment density. A media-planning input, and nothing more than that.

Counties with births and nobody local to call

52 Nebraska counties recorded births in 2024 and report no Offices-of-Lawyers establishment, covering 2,047 births. Otoe recorded 176, Colfax recorded 164 and Pierce recorded 99. County Business Patterns carries no establishment figure for those 52 Nebraska counties, rather than a published zero, so read it as none reported.

Zero establishments does not mean nobody in Otoe or the other 51 has a lawyer. It means no office sits there, so they are served from elsewhere in Nebraska. At an average of 39.4 births a county, none of them carries enough volume for a campaign or a local presence to convert one against, which makes them a referral question.

Where the birth did not happen in the county

39 Nebraska counties recorded births in 2024 and contain no hospital confirmed to provide inpatient labour and delivery, covering 4,442 births. Sarpy County alone recorded 2,402 of them, the only one in Nebraska with that volume and no delivery service.

Those 4,442 Nebraska births happened somewhere else. For the 2,402 families in Sarpy, the defendant facility, the treating clinicians and the home address can sit in three different counties, so a plan weighted by residence is weighted against the wrong thing and the records request crosses a county line before it starts.

Clinical measures and legal measures are never joined on this site. Adverse-event rates describe medicine; litigation describes a legal process. Where both appear together it is to describe a market, not to suggest that one predicts the other.
